Special Population Basketball League (SPBL)

Who plays Special Needs Basketball:
Any child five years old and up that has a disability; mentally, physically, visually and or hearing impaired. Wheelchairs and or walkers are welcomed. No experience or basketball abilities are required. The program will allow athletes with cognitive and physical disabilities the opportunity to play ball and have fun. The ONLY requirement is the desire to have FUN.
 
How the game is played:
Depending on the number of participants, teams are formed according to player’s age, height, ability to follow directions for modified rules, competitiveness, and desire to have FUN.
 
Where and when the games are practiced & played:
The league will practice and play on the same day: ½ hour of practice will follow with a (32) thirty-two minute, four quarters game. All practices and games will play at Colonia Veterans Memorial Gymnasium, 195 North Marquita Street, on Fridays, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. NO FOOD/DRINK ALLOWED IN GYM (Water allowed in lobby)
